Bruce started as a cadet journalist at Brisbane’s Courier-Mail newspaper in 1982 where his role included “clocking” at Deagon racecourse, along with form guide production and race reporting. His Brisbane media career extended to involvement in Brisbane’s 4TAB radio station through a weekly magazine program as well as form tipster.
Bruce moved to Melbourne in 1997 where he started “ejockey”, a company involved in managing jockeys. To this end he has worked with leading jockeys Damien Oliver, Chris Munce, Craig Newitt and Michael Walker.
But he maintained a media interest through Radio Sport 927 as a tipster and eventually filling the role as host of the station’s then ‘Racing Central’ program.
Bruce started an involvement in the new ThoroughVision (TVN) in 2006 before making the full time move to that station as its Chief Presenter.
He has covered race meetings all over Australia as well as enjoyed the opportunity to travel to race carnivals in England,
Ireland, France, Dubai, Hong Kong, Macau, New Zealand and Mauritius.
