Dean Pettit has been involved in the racing industry for 20 years and has experience in many aspects of the game.

Dean started his jockey apprenticeship in 1992 and rode for 7 years before the battle with weight got the better of him.
As a jockey, he was successful with many horses and trainers, including Guy Walter and John Hawkes and his master,
Bruce Cross.

Dean then became stable foreman for Kim Waugh at Rosehill, where he gained immense experience in all aspects of
horse and stable management and was a major part of the success of Kim’s maiden Group One winner, Mahtoum.

Dean has been with TVN for 5 years and has developed his skills in a wide range of duties including producing, race day coordination and on-air presentation.

He also continues to develop his passion for race calling, gaining experience at trials and both TAB and non-TAB meetings.
