Richard has spent the majority of his working life in the racing industry. In 1997, His career started at leading auction house William Inglis and Sons where he was entrusted with the compiling of sales catalogues and yearling inspections. This role enabled Richard to learn at a grassroots level, making friends and connections which continue to this day.
After a 9 year stint with Williams Inglis and Son, Richard was offered the job of a lifetime, the Racing Managers position at
Gai Waterhouse racing. In his 15 month tenure, Richard worked closely with racing’s leading lady assisting her at the yearling sales and at the races. With client liason being a major part of the Waterhouse stable, Richard saw to the needs of many owners, celebrating on the good days and commiserating on the bad ones.
Finishing up with Gai, in 2008 Richard secured a role as New Zealand Bloodstocks Representative in Australia. In this position Richard is responsible for liasing with trainers and owners Australia wide, he still holds this position and does so with plenty
of pride.
At about the same time Richard began his career with TVN. Starting with Singapore commentary, Richard quickly moved to regular Raceday Live hostings.
Addings the popular Connections and Trackwork shows his his workload, Richards diverse knowledge of the industry stands
him in good stead to bring TVN viewers quality racing and breeding information.
