Terry Bailey commenced his career as a greyhound broadcaster at just fourteen years of age at Grafton in New South Wales
and was the youngest caller at the time to broadcast a TAB meeting.
Early in Terry’s career he was calling thoroughbred and greyhound races as well as writing a weekly column and feature stories for the Daily Examiner. He also worked for radio station 2GF as a racecaller and presenter.
Terry became the number two caller at 4TAB to Wayne Wilson in Queensland and called all three codes before heading to Sydney to replace John Tapp at Sky Channel. There he also hosted the Saturday morning racing program on radio 2KY.
Terry was awarded the best racecaller in New South Wales in 1999 before moving to Melbourne to be a senior racecaller and presenter for TVN.
Terry is the only race broadcaster in Australia to have held the number one racecalling position in two states. After 33 years
as a broadcaster, Terry can fill every role on radio or television from calling races to hosting and anything in between.
